DESCRIPTION
1.THESE GENERAL SITE WORK REQUIREMENTS APPLY TO ALL SITE WORK
OPERATIONS, AND APPLY TO THEIR RESPECTIVE SECTIONS HEREIN.
2.FURNISH ALL REQUIRED LABOR, MATERIAL, TRANSPORTATION, TOOLS,
SUPPLIES, AND EQUIPMENT NECESSARY FOR THE COMPLETE AND
SATISFACTORY CONSTRUCTION OF EACH RESPECTIVE SECTION HEREIN.
QUALITY ASSURANCE
1.COMPLY WITH ALL APPLICABLE LOCAL, STATE, AND FEDERAL ORDINANCES,
RULES, AND REGULATIONS REGARDING MATERIALS, METHODS OF WORK, AND
DISPOSAL OF EXCESS AND WASTE MATERIALS.
2.OBTAIN AND PAY FOR ALL REQUIRED INSPECTIONS, PERMITS, CERTIFICATES,
LICENSES, TESTS, TAXES, AND FEES. PROVIDE NOTICES REQUIRED BY
GOVERNMENTAL AUTHORITIES. FILE DRAWINGS NECESSARY TO OBTAIN
PERMITS. SCHEDULE NECESSARY INSPECTIONS AND TESTS. SUBMIT
CERTIFICATES OF INSPECTION AND APPROVAL UPON COMPLETION OF WORK.
SUBMITTALS
1.PROVIDE SAMPLES OF ALL MATERIALS PROPOSED FOR SUBSTITUTION AND
APPLICABLE TO THE WORK SCHEDULED UPON REQUEST OF LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT. ALL MATERIALS SHALL COMPLY WITH THEIR RESPECTIVE
STANDARDS. SUBMIT MANUFACTURER'S PRODUCT DATA, SPECIFICATIONS,
AND INSTALLATION INSTRUCTIONS FOR FACTORY FABRICATED ITEMS,
INCLUDING PAINT PRODUCTS.
2.PROVIDE SITE RECORD ("AS BUILT") DRAWINGS AND OPERATING AND
MAINTENANCE DATA FOR:
2.1.SITE DRAINAGE, IRRIGATION SYSTEMS, WATER SUPPLY, AND ALL UTILITY
RELOCATIONS.
2.2.INDICATE VERTICAL AND HORIZONTAL LOCATIONS, REFERENCED TO
PERMANENT SURFACE IMPROVEMENTS.
2.3.IDENTIFYING FIELD CHANGES OR DIMENSION AND DETAIL AND CHANGES
MADE BY CHANGE ORDER.
3.UPON WORK ACCEPTANCE, SUBMIT WRITTEN OPERATING AND MAINTENANCE
DATA. PROVIDE FORMAT AND CONTENTS AS DIRECTED BY THE LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT.
4.SUBMIT INSPECTION CERTIFICATES FOR APPLICABLE WORK BY SEED
VENDORS, SOD GROWERS, AND PLANT MATERIAL SOURCES UPON REQUEST
OF LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT.
5.SUBMIT MATERIAL SAMPLES FOR ALL ITEMS REQUESTED BY THE LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT.
EXISTING SURFACE AND UTILITY CONDITIONS
1.BIDDERS TO VISIT SITE PRIOR TO BIDDING AND ASSUME FULL RESPONSIBILITY
FOR VISUAL OBSERVATION OF EXISTING CONDITIONS.
2.CONTRACTOR TO CHECK AND VERIFY EXISTING GRADES, CONDITIONS, AND
UTILITIES PRIOR TO START OF WORK. REPORT DISCREPANCIES TO
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT.
3.NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ASSUMED BY THE OWNER, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT OR
THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT'S CONSULTANTS FOR ACCURACY OF
TOPOGRAPHIC INFORMATION PROVIDED ON DRAWINGS.
SUBSURFACE DATA
1.IF SOIL BORING LOCATIONS ARE INDICATED ON THE DRAWINGS, REPORT
CONTAINING DATA OBTAINED FROM SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION WILL BE
AVAILABLE FOR EXAMINATION BY BIDDERS UPON REQUEST.
2.DATA OBTAINED FROM SUBSURFACE INVESTIGATION IS THE BEST
REPRESENTATION OF FACTUAL INFORMATION AVAILABLE AT THIS TIME.
BIDDERS ARE TO EXAMINE THIS DATA PRIOR TO BIDDING AND DRAW THEIR
OWN CONCLUSIONS.
3.NO CLAIM FOR ADDITIONAL COMPENSATION OR EXTENSION OF CONTRACT
TIME WILL BE ALLOWED ON ACCOUNT OF SUBSURFACE CONDITIONS
CONSISTENT WITH THE DATA CONTAINED IN THE ABOVE REFERENCE REPORT.
4.NO RESPONSIBILITY IS ASSUMED BY OWNER, LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT OR THE
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT'S CONSULTANTS FOR THE ACCURACY OF
SUBSURFACE DATA PROVIDED.
PROJECT CONDITIONS
1.PROVIDE ADEQUATE MEANS OF PROTECTION OF UTILITIES AND SERVICE
DESIGNATED TO REMAIN. REPAIR UTILITIES OR WORKS OF OTHER
CONTRACTOR'S DAMAGED DURING SITE WORK OPERATIONS AT
CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
2.ARRANGE FOR DISCONNECTION. DISCONNECT AND SEAL OR CAP ALL
UTILITIES AND SERVICES DESIGNATED TO BE REMOVED BEFORE START OF
SITE WORK OPERATIONS. PERFORM ALL WORK IN ACCORDANCE WITH THE
REQUIREMENTS OF THE APPLICABLE UTILITY COMPANY OR AGENCY
INVOLVED. COORDINATE THE WORK REQUIRED WITH OTHER DIVISIONS.
3.WHEN UNCHARTED OR INCORRECTLY CHARTED UNDERGROUND PIPING OR
OTHER UTILITIES AND SERVICES ARE ENCOUNTERED DURING SITE WORK
OPERATIONS, PROMPTLY NOTIFY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT AND OWNER
AND THEN APPROPRIATE UTILITY CONTRACTOR OR APPLICABLE UTILITY
COMPANY IMMEDIATELY TO OBTAIN PROCEDURE DIRECTIONS. COOPERATE
WITH THE APPLICABLE UTILITY COMPANY IN MAINTAINING ACTIVE SERVICES IN
OPERATION.
4.LOCATE, PROTECT, AND MAINTAIN BENCH MARKS, MONUMENTS, CONTROL
POINTS AND PROJECT ENGINEERING REFERENCE POINTS. RE-ESTABLISH
DISTURBED OR DESTROYED ITEMS AT CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
5.PERFORM SITE WORK OPERATIONS AND THE REMOVAL OF DEBRIS AND
WASTE MATERIALS DAILY TO ASSURE MINIMUM INTERFERENCE WITH
STREETS, WALKS, AND OTHER ADJACENT FACILITIES.
6.OBTAIN GOVERNING AUTHORITIES WRITTEN PERMISSION WHEN REQUIRED TO
CLOSE OR OBSTRUCT STREET AND ADJACENT FACILITIES. PROVIDE
ALTERNATE ROUTES AROUND CLOSED OR OBSTRUCTED TRAFFIC WAYS
WHEN REQUIRED BY GOVERNING AUTHORITIES.
7.CONTROL DUST CAUSED BY THE WORK. DAMPEN SURFACES AS REQUIRED.
COMPLY WITH POLLUTION CONTROL REGULATIONS OF GOVERNING
AUTHORITIES.
8.PROTECT EXISTING BUILDINGS, PAVING, TREES, PLANTS, LAWNS, AND OTHER
SERVICES OR FACILITIES ON SITE AND ADJACENT TO THE SITE FROM DAMAGE
CAUSED BY SITE WORK OPERATIONS. REPLACE PAVING, CURBING, LAWNS,
LANDSCAPING, AND ALL FINISHED SURFACES REMOVED TO INSTALL
UNDERGROUND WORK, EXCEPT WHERE NEW SURFACES ARE PROVIDED AS
PART OF THE WORK. COST OF REPAIR AND RESTORATION OF DAMAGED
ITEMS AT CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE. EXHIBIT CARE TO CLEAR ROOT ZONES
OF TREES SCHEDULED TO REMAIN. WHERE UTILITY TRENCHING IS REQUIRED
WITHIN ROOT ZONES, CLEANLY CUT DAMAGED ROOTS AND HAND DIG/TUNNEL
THROUGH ROOT ZONES WITHIN DRIP LINE OF TREE.
9.PROTECT AND MAINTAIN STREET LIGHTS, UTILITY POLE AND SERVICES, AND
ALL OTHER SERVICES, EXCEPT ITEMS DESIGNATED FOR REMOVAL. PROVIDE
FOR TEMPORARY RELOCATION WHEN REQUIRED TO MAINTAIN FACILITIES AND
SERVICES IN OPERATION DURING CONSTRUCTION WORK.
10.DO NOT CLOSE OFF PUBLIC/OWNER USE OF FACILITIES UNTIL COMPLETION OF
A STAGE OF CONSTRUCTION WILL PROVIDE ALTERNATIVE USAGE. CONDUCT
OPERATIONS TO ASSURE LEAST INCONVENIENCE TO PUBLIC/OWNER.
11.PROVIDE NECESSARY HOSE AND WATERING EQUIPMENT REQUIRED FOR
APPLICABLE WORK.
12.CUTTING AND PATCHING.
12.1.MATERIALS AND FINISHES FOR PATCHING SHALL MATCH EXISTING CUT
SURFACE MATERIALS AND FINISH.
13.PROVIDE AND PAY FOR PORTABLE ELECTRIC GENERATORS TO MEET
TEMPORARY ELECTRICAL NEEDS DURING CONSTRUCTION OPERATIONS.
14.PROVIDE TEMPORARY BARRICADES AND WARNING LIGHTS AS REQUIRED FOR
PROTECTION OF PROJECT WORK AND PUBLIC SAFETY.
15.PROMPTLY NOTIFY THE OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE OF UNEXPECTED
SUB-SURFACE CONDITIONS.
DELIVERY, STORAGE, AND HANDLING
1.DELIVER ALL MATERIALS IN THE MANUFACTURERS' ORIGINAL PACKAGING
WITH TAGS AND LABELS INTACT AND LEGIBLE.
2.HANDLE AND STORE MATERIALS TO PREVENT DAMAGE, DETERIORATION, AND
RUST.
3.EXERCISE CARE TO PREVENT DAMAGE TO INSTALLED MATERIALS AND
WORKS.
4.STACK MATERIALS OFF GROUND TO ENSURE PROPER DRAINAGE AND
VENTILATION.
5.STOCKPILE AND HANDLE AGGREGATES TO PREVENT MIXING WITH FOREIGN
MATERIALS.
6.PROVIDE SECURE, LOCKED STORAGE FOR FIXTURES, CONTROLS AND SIMILAR
COMPONENTS THAT CANNOT BE IMMEDIATELY REPLACED, TO PREVENT
INSTALLATION DELAYS.
WARRANTY
1.UNLESS NOTED OTHERWISE IN A SPECIFIC SECTION, UPON ACCEPTANCE OF
WORK, PROVIDE A ONE-YEAR WRITTEN WARRANTY AGAINST DEFECTS IN
PRODUCTS AND WORKMANSHIP. PROVIDE RECOMMENDED MAINTENANCE
PROCEDURES FOR APPLICABLE WORK COMPLETED.
2.PROMPTLY REPLACE AND/OR REPAIR ALL DEFECTS FOUND WITHIN
WARRANTY PERIOD.
3.WARRANTY SHALL INCLUDE RESPONSIBILITY FOR REMOVAL AND
REPLACEMENT OF WORK WHICH CONCEALS DEFECTIVE UNDERGROUND
WORK.
MATERIALS AND EQUIPMENT
1.COMPLY WITH SECTIONS THAT APPLY TO WORK PROPOSED.
EXECUTION OF WORK
1.NEW WORK MUST MEET AND MATCH ALIGNMENT OF EXISTING FEATURES AND
FINISHED GRADES AT LIMITS OF WORK AND AT EXISTING PAVEMENT OR
OTHER FACILITIES TO REMAIN. CONTRACTOR TO FIELD VERIFY ALL EXISTING
CONDITIONS AND MAKE NECESSARY MINOR ADJUSTMENTS IN THE PROPOSED
WORK TO MEET THE INTENT OF THE PLANS AND TO PROVIDE SMOOTH
TRANSITIONS BETWEEN EXISTING CONDITIONS AND NEW WORK.
2.THE LAYOUT IS INTENDED TO RELATE TO EXISTING ARCHITECTURAL AND SITE
FEATURES. IN GENERAL, THE MEASUREMENTS ON THE DRAWINGS ARE
REASONABLE AND ACCURATE FOR THEIR PURPOSE. HOWEVER, IN THE
EXECUTION OF WORK ON THE PROJECT, THE CONTRACTOR IS TO VERIFY ALL
DIMENSIONS WITH ACTUAL CONDITIONS ON THE JOB IN ORDER TO MAKE A
PRECISE FIT.
3.FOR LAYOUT, ALL ANGLES ARE 90° UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
4.ALL DIMENSIONS ARE TO FACE OF RISER, FACE OF STONE EDGING, AND FACE
OF WALLS, ETC., UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
5.CONTRACTOR TO STAKE THE ALIGNMENT OF ALL PAVEMENT, WALLS, AND
OTHER HARDSCAPE FEATURES, PER LAYOUT PLAN DIMENSIONS, IN THE FIELD
FOR APPROVAL BY THE LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT PRIOR TO BEGINNING
CONSTRUCTION.
6.UPON COMPLETION OF ANY HARDSCAPE FEATURE, CONTRACTOR TO REMOVE
DEBRIS FROM AREAS DESIGNATED AS PLANT BEDS PRIOR TO ACCEPTANCE
OF WORK.
PREPARATION
1.EXAMINE THE AREAS AND CONDITIONS UNDER WHICH SITE WORK IS
PERFORMED. DO NOT PROCEED WITH THE WORK UNTIL UNSATISFACTORY
CONDITIONS ARE CORRECTED.
2.CONSULT THE RECORDS AND DRAWINGS OF ADJACENT WORK AND OF
EXISTING SERVICES AND UTILITIES WHICH MAY AFFECT SITE WORK
OPERATIONS.
3.PRIOR TO COMMENCING ANY WORK, THE CONTRACTOR SHALL CONTACT THE
CITY OF BOZEMAN WATER CONSERVATION DIVISION TO SCHEDULE A
REINSTALLATION MEETING. CONTRACTOR SHALL NOTIFY LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT OF SCHEDULED PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING IN ADVANCE.
DISPOSAL OF WASTE MATERIAL
1.STOCKPILE, HAUL FROM SITE, AND LEGALLY DISPOSE OF WASTE MATERIALS,
INCLUDING EXCESS EXCAVATED MATERIALS, ROCK, TRASH AND DEBRIS.
2.CONTINUOUSLY MAINTAIN DISPOSAL ROUTE CLEAR, CLEAN, AND FREE OF
DEBRIS. HOSE OFF ROADWAYS, STREETS AND PAVEMENTS TO CONTROL
DUST.
3.ON-SITE BURNING OF COMBUSTIBLE MATERIALS IS NOT PERMITTED.
4.DO NOT REMOVE TOPSOIL FROM SITE, UNLESS AUTHORIZED BY LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT.
CLEANING
1.MAINTAIN SITE IN A CLEAN WORKABLE CONDITION DURING CONSTRUCTION
OPERATIONS. CLEAN UP DEBRIS, DISCARDED BAGS, BOXES, CONTAINERS
AND CUTTINGS ON A DAILY BASIS.
2.UPON COMPLETION OF SITE WORK, REMOVE TOOLS AND EQUIPMENT.
PROVIDE SITE CLEAR, CLEAN, FREE OF DEBRIS, AND SUITABLE FOR SITE
WORK OPERATIONS.
3.FLUSH CLEAN SITE DRAINAGE AND WATER PIPING STRUCTURES AND
FIXTURES. REMOVE ALL SILT, TRASH, AND DEBRIS JUST PRIOR TO
ACCEPTANCE OF WORK.
4.UPON COMPLETION OF WORK, REMOVE FROM SITE ALL EXCESS SOIL,
MATERIALS, DEBRIS AND EQUIPMENT. DISPOSE OF EXCESS MATERIALS
LEGALLY.
