Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Commissioners,
In light of the recent vote on the appeal of the administrative approval of the Guthrie, I recognize that the protections
of the NCOD are actually incredibly fragile and subjective.
We demand an update to our Growth Policy to reflect the value of Historic Preservation and the efforts of current
residents to make Bozeman the desirable community that it is today.
We demand a UDC update that assigns better zoning regulations and districts on the map to protect our core
neighborhoods from unsympathetic redevelopment. We can add housing without destroying the things that make
each neighborhood great.
We demand that the update to the City's Historic Preservation Policy include STANDARDS, not guidelines. The
Landmark Program must be REGULATORY, not simply voluntary and honorary.
Please elevate the feedback from the Historic Preservation Advisory Board in all of these matters! We are not
managing "infill" well!
