Dear Historic Preservation Advisory Board (HPAB),
I’m taking this moment to thank you for your service. Having sat in your seat as a former
member of the Recreation and Parks Advisory Board (RPAB) and the Chair of the Urban Parks and
Forestry Board (UPF), I understand how deliberating a decision to recommend something to theCity Commission can at times be exciting, laborious, and confusing.
I very much appreciated Jim Webster’s grounding comments and inquiry. Jim's attention todetail and alignment with intentionality for the City’s greater good engenders hope. I alsoapplaud Allyson Brekke’s insightful amendment to postpone any discussion of theNeighborhood Conservation Overlay District (NCOD) boundaries until after meaningfulimprovements have been made to NCOD policy. Thank you to the Board for supporting hermotion to amend.
Again, thank you for sharing your expertise and passion on this advisory board. I’m especiallyexcited about your work to acknowledge and celebrate the natural environment as much as thebuilt one. You are visionary.
