RE: Public Tree Reimbursement for The Hotel Bozeman
The Hotel Bozeman project is a new proposed hotel project on 1.09 acres located within the B-3
Downtown Business District at the intersection of North Tracy Avenue and West Lamme Street.
The attached existing conditions plan, Civil C1.0, shows the location of 3 existing trees along West
Lamme Street. Due to the proposed construction activity and requirements for upgrading the
streetscape in that area, the preservation of those trees is not viable.
Construction of the project will require demolition of West Lamme Street. Zoning requirements
designate the street frontage as mixed block frontage, so storefront block frontage will be used. The
West Lamme streetscape will feature a 6' strip of permeable pavers from back of curb, a 6' minimum
width of concrete sidewalk, and landscape area to the building face. Within the 6'permeable strip,
street trees will be placed within 5'x10'raised concrete planters for every 50 linear feet of frontage.
Appropriate street tree species are proposed within these planters, with 4 total trees proposed
along the West Lamme frontage.
Thank you for your consideration of this request.
Sincerely,
Troy Scherer
