Please file this public comment in support of the N. Tracy remodel in the appropriate file for
the project application 24710, as well as getting it to the Commission and CommunityDevelopment Department. Thank you.

Hello Mayor, Deputy Mayor, Commissioners, and Community Development Department,
I'm writing in support of a very tasteful and respectful remodel proposed within the NorthTracy Historic District. https://weblink.bozeman.net/WebLink/DocView.aspx?

Notice the language in red on the Existing Elevations sheet (linked above) that talks aboutrespecting the existing structure, and its existing footprint. This sheet also refers to the
Secretary of the Interior's standards for the treatment of historic structures even though theproperty is listed as non-contributing. It is located in an established historic district.
This is why we need more of the proposed historic districts on the North Side
to actually be created!
Work has been done to support the creation of an African American Historic District in the
Northeast Neighborhood, as well as a Mid-Century Modern Historic District in the Violet andKarp subdivisions in Midtown. Please allocate the necessary resources to finish this work and
actually create both of these historic districts.
It is time to appreciate Bozeman's working class north side and give our planning departmentthe direction and tools to protect the neighborhoods by guiding redevelopment in a sensitive
manner.
Recent events have made it clear that staff need direction to do this from the top.
