Dear City of Bozeman staff,
I am writing in sincere request that you reconsider your approval of the proposed building
project at N 5th and Villard (application 25033), particularly in light of its impact on the safetyand well-being of the families who live here, including my own.
I have strong concerns about the apparent oversight of city codes involving its proposed scale
and mass, which is in discoordination with our neighborhood (38.230.100A.5.c. and38.230.100.A.7).
As a mother of three young children, I am increasingly worried about how this developmentwill affect the quality of life in our community. Our neighborhood is home to many families,
and our children attend Whittier School, which is located nearby. The influx of traffic, noise, and potential hazards associated with such a large project will inevitably disrupt the peaceful
environment that has made our neighborhood a safe and welcoming place to live.
Additionally, the construction and long-term presence of a massive building in such close
proximity to a school raises significant safety concerns. With children walking, biking, andplaying in the area, I am afraid this development will introduce dangers that could have been
avoided. The added congestion could create risks for our children’s safety, and the loss ofopen space and greenery will further diminish the quality of life for families who call this
neighborhood home.
While I understand that development and growth are important for a thriving city, I believe
that this particular project is not in the best interest of the community, especially whenweighed against the potential risks to our children and the fabric of our neighborhood. I
respectfully urge you to reconsider the approval and take into account the concerns of thefamilies who live here, especially those like myself who have young children attending school
in the area.
Please take the time to evaluate the long-term consequences of this decision on the children
and families who rely on the safety and tranquility of this neighborhood. I sincerely hope youwill take our concerns to heart and reconsider this project, as I believe a more thoughtful
approach is needed to balance growth with community welfare.
Thank you for your time and attention to this important matter. I am happy to provide further
input or meet with you to discuss my concerns in more detail.
Sincerely,
Emily Anderson516 N 4th Ave.
