I strongly urge you to deny this project. It fails to protect our children, as we lack adequate
parking for the school and elm event center as it is. As it stands, the ELM and Whittierparking overflows onto the Guthrie site regularly both day and night. Where do an added 100
plus cars park daily/nightly for this location??? Where will the residents of Guthrie park? Asit is these little streets when full of snow only have 1/2 the parking as usual.
Currently, many repeat offenders fly through the school street intersections, never stopping
and going over 30mph. You are ok with lives being jeopardized so we can build more highend transient housing for the wealthy. These units are NOT affordable as indicated on their
proposal! And they look right into the school yard! It's a predators' paradise, and you shouldbe ashamed of yourselves for not protecting our children better! Sexual predators will be there
guaranteed, not families in those little units.
Clearly the city just wants revenue, based on all the other growth decisions that violate codesroutinely. And the now added parking tickets, convenience of not making developments such
as the Guthrie provide ample parking to room/ unit ratios. The city welcomes this revenue, and how convenient for you to take advantage of others this way. Not ok.
If the Guthrie were approved, there will surely be more fatalities of both children and adults.
People drive more aggressively now than ever. The Guthrie doesn't provide for safety ofthose on the outlying surrounding streets where existing residents should be parking.
A Two-story building max with underground parking is more adequate in keeping with our
historic neighborhood codes in the past. These high rise buildings are eyesores and don'tprovide pedestrian safety as they are right on the sidewalks, blocking traffic views to ensure
safety of pedestrians, bicyclists and automobiles. I've witnessed too many casualties /collisions walking by Wilson and Villard, as well as near misses to people and autos.
Sincerely,
Michele Boyd
