Hello Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Commissioners,
Please create a super-board with 2 members of the Historic Preservation Advisory Board
joining the Community Development Board for their work sessions on the UDC update.
A holistic approach to this subject will yield better results. The Historic Preservation Programis undergoing its own review and update, but topics like zone edge transitions, zoning districts
on the map, and proposed mass and scale allowed in zoning districts have direct correlation toHistoric Preservation goals in our core neighborhoods.
Our growth policy states on page 30: "N-4.1 Continue to recognize and honor the unique
history, neighborhoods, neighborhood character, and buildings that contribute to Bozeman’ssense of place through programs and policy led by both City and community efforts."
Bozeman's Historic Preservation Program as it exists now, is IN the Community Development
Department so this IS appropriate.
