Dear City of Commission,
As a dedicated and invested resident in the Northeast Neighborhood of Bozeman, I amreaching out in full support of our valued neighbors, Morgan Taylor and Guy Alsentzer,
regarding their sidewalk variance request.
The proposed sidewalk installation would unfortunately result in the removal of mature, old-
growth vegetation that they have carefully nurtured over the years. These trees and plants notonly contribute to the beauty of our neighborhood but also provide essential natural shade and
greenery, which greatly benefit the children and families in our community.
Moreover, given its non-conforming nature, this sidewalk would do little, if anything, to
enhance the neighborhood’s accessibility or functionality. As someone who prioritizes safeand meaningful infrastructure for families and children, I believe that the funds allocated for
this project could be better directed toward initiatives that offer greater benefits to thecommunity, such as park improvements or traffic safety measures.
Ultimately, constructing a 130-foot sidewalk in this location does not appear to provide ameaningful contribution to the neighborhood, while the costs—both financial and
environmental—are significant. I sincerely urge you to consider approving this variancerequest in the best interest of our community.
Thank you for your time and for your ongoing efforts to support Bozeman and its residents.
Warmly,
Hannah
