TO: Community Development Director
Hello: I write to you as a Bozeman resident to respectfully request that you
deny Home Base Partners’ development modification request and preserve the
mature trees and boulevard on Lamme Street. Bozeman Municipal Code (BMC)
Section 38.230.100 Plan Review Criteria
I ask that you have the developer stay "responsive to natural features (i.e. the existing
mature trees) and EPO3.9, conform with community design provisions of article 4,
(division 38.410) General Standard 38.410.010. I understand there are examples of
infill development projects that successfully protect existing trees during construction.I also request conformance with the project design provisions of article 5, including:
7a,c, d and e. The new development should be sensitive to neighborhood identity,
landscaping, and historical character.
I would think the shade and attractiveness of these trees would add to the
attractiveness of the development, as an incentive to the builder to keep them.
Residents who live in HomeBase apartments would also enjoy their greenery and the
birds who inhabit them. A member of my family enjoys the birds who come to herbalcony deck on the 2nd floor of the Black Olive building.
Thanks for considering my request.
