Kirtley - Deny application 24606From:lynn kirtley To:Bozeman Public Comment Subject:[EXTERNAL]Deny application 24606 Date:Monday, March 3, 2025 11:47:25 AM CAUTION: This email originated from outside of the organization. To Whom It May Concern, Allowing the demolition of the public boulevard trees would not be in keeping with Bozeman Municipal Code Section 38.230.100 Plan Review Criteria because this development would notbe responsive to natural features (the existing mature trees) and cutting them down is in direct conflict with the city's climate goal of reducing carbon emissions. The design anddevelopment of all land uses must to the extent possible preserve trees. Deny this modification application and have the developer proceed with the originally approvedapplication. Design should be in harmony with existing vegetation with an emphasis on preserving existing vegetation. Special attention should be paid to trees 6 inches in diameterand greater and these trees meet that criteria. A developer's desire should not outweigh the public good afforded by existing mature trees that provide shade, carbon sequestration, wildlife habitat and a link to our neighborhoods' past and future. Maybe we're going to be a city, but we don't have to be an ugly city. Thank you, Lynn Kirtley
