I am writing to ask you to vote NO on Application 24606 where Homebase Partners are
asking to change the 21029 N Central Master Site Plan from Mixed Landscape to MixedStorefront.
This would change this project to having no set back AND thus cutting down all the public
trees on W Lamme by the project. This is contrary to what the city goals are in the Climate Action Plan - reduce CO2 emissions.
Cutting down these mature trees eliminates shade in the neighborhood, alters the
neighborhood chapter and leaves a sterile environment. The building can still be built AND keep the trees by retaining the original site plan for Mixed
Landscape.
Loss of mature trees >6” in diameter is serious. The urban forest in Bozeman is an importantnatural resource.
Many residents are speaking up about the need to protect mature trees not cut them down.
There are several parts of the Bozeman Muni Code that this application violates - especiallySec 38.230.100 Plan Review.
This request goes against the public good of keeping mature heritage trees and should bedenied.
Thank you for caring about Bozeman’s Urban Forest, the municipal code, growth policy and
the residents of Bozeman.
