Set for March 5, 2025 at 10 a.m. The Montana Department of Commerce Announces the Public Hearing for the Fiscal Year 2026 Public Housing Authority and Administrative Plan Photo by Montana Department of Commerce Photo by Montana Department of Commerce The Montana Department of Commerce announces the public hearing for the Fiscal Year 2026 Public Housing Authority and Administrative Plan for the Housing Choice Voucher Program, the Moderate Rehabilitation Program and related voucher programs. The Administrative Plan, which includes Montana’s 2026 PHA and Administrative Plan, has been developed and published to incorporate new federal regulatory requirements, waitlist preferences and other administrative modifications. The public is now encouraged to review the draft document and provide feedback. Montana’s PHA and Administrative Plan provides a ready source for interested parties to locate basic PHA policies, rules and requirements concerning the PHA’s operations, programs and services. The Housing Choice Voucher Program is funded by the federal government and administered by the Housing Division within the Montana Department of Commerce for the jurisdiction of the State of Montana. The Commerce Housing Division includes the Rental Assistance Bureau; Montana’s statewide Public Housing Authority, which is responsible for administering the U.S. Department of Housing and Urban Development’s Housing Choice Voucher; Veteran Affairs Supportive Housing; Mainstream; Emergency Housing Voucher and the Moderate Rehabilitation programs to provide affordable, safe housing to low-income Montanans. For more information and to provide oral comments, the public is invited to attend a virtual public hearing at 10 a.m. MST on Wednesday, March 5, 2025. REGISTER FOR PUBLIC HEARING The hearing will be held on Zoom; presentation materials will be available on Commerce’s website in advance. The public hearing will provide attendees with an opportunity to respond to Commerce’s FY2026 PHA and Administrative Plan. Commerce will consider any comments or views provided orally during the public hearing or in writing during the comment period, beginning Friday, Feb. 28, 2025, and ending Monday, April 14, 2025, at 5 p.m. All comments pertaining to the plan must be submitted to the address or email below no later than 5 p.m. MST on Monday, April 14, 2025.
