I am writing to you today to ask you to repeal the existing Affordable Housing Ordinance
(AHO) and vote no on the new proposed AHO. The tangible and intangible costs of theincentives being offered through the proposed ordinance outweigh the benefits. Furthermore,
we encourage the commission to focus staff's efforts and public engagement on reviewing the2020 Community Plan, as is mandated by state law to be completed this year, before moving
forward with writing a draft of the UDC. This document informs so many of the city's plans, including the UDC, and we believe it is the best use of taxpayer time and money to update the
Community Plan prior to investing any more in plans that are downstream of it. Thank you foryour time and consideration.

Repeal, and do not replace, the current AHO. Pause the UDC for just a few more months. Focus first on the
Community Plan / Growth Policy. The state mandates that this should be reviewed every five years, so it is due for a
review this year. A lot has changed since the 2020 Community Plan was adopted, and residents (the commission’s
constituents) have a lot to say about how Bozeman has grown and how they want it to grow in the future.
