PLEASE vote NO on the updates to the Affordable Housing Ordinance tonight
(1/28/2025)!!!!!! These updates will only make out housing crisis worse for those who need it
most.
These updates will further erode the Bozeman we all know and love, while nurturing a
community of "haves" and "have nots", NOT the community of economic inclusivity that
Bozeman used to be.
They will bring LESS access to affordable housing that is affordable to those who need it
most. In 2023 the average cost of a single bedroom unit in Bozeman was $485,000.
THIS IS NOWHERE NEAR AFFORDABLE HOUSING.
Adding more half million-dollar apartments and condos is NOT the solution...IT's the
PROBLEM.
As currently written, these updates will bring MORE parking problems. Bozeman street
can hardly handle the current congestions we have today. Leaving out mandatory
parking spaces and thoughtful traffic flow planning while dramatically increasing
housing density will bring transportation nightmares for decades to come, not to
mention negligence of those who allow it to happen.
PLEASE consider implementing measures that will bring more housing equity that will help
STOP the increasing chasm of economic division that is festering in Bozeman now. I am very
supporting of increased housing density, BUT it needs to be inclusive to ALL, not just the
wealthy transplants that are moving here in droves. PLEASE consider the needs of OUR
community FIRST, not those who are posed to financially gain from this development. This is
the wrong solution for Bozeman. PLEASE VOTE NO!!! Bozeman is counting on you
