To: City Commissioners
Having watched the City try to address Affordable Housing for many years, it’s obvious that Bozeman has
not yet found solutions that actually increase (or save) affordable housing in a variety of price ranges.
I urge the City Commission to focus on the needs of residents and not the dreams of developers. Thereare many approaches available for housing that have nothing to do with expanding to 6 or even 7 storybuildings across the city. Clearly residents in locations where 5 or 6 story buildings were proposed havebeen clear that these heights are not wanted. And even more so that the lack of parking disruptsneighborhoods. I am very disappointed that the latest proposal seems to strengthen and expand what isnot working.
Please move away from the idea that massive heights will meet the actual needs for affordability in price
or size. We can be more successful if we keep thinking creatively!
Thank you for your continued work on this problem.
