Dear UPF Board members, Addi, Alex, and Mitch-
I discovered a significant typo in the recent public comments submitted by the Bozeman TreeCoalition to the UPF Board on January 23, 2025.
On page 2, in the following paragraph, please note that the section highlighted in yellow
should read "6 inches or greater in diameter..." and NOT "56"inches.
Examples of lack of enforcement:
1. The Guthrie: The Guthrie project by HomeBase falls within the Neighborhood
Conservation Overlay District. BMC 38.110.010.B. Guidelines for Historic Preservation
and Neighborhood Conservation Overlay District. Chapter 2. E. Landscape Design which
includes under Guidelines, “1. Preserve and maintain mature trees and significant
vegetation within all corridors…Special consideration should be given to mature trees,
56 inches or greater in diameter…”
As you can surmise, this would include many mature trees in the Neighborhood ConservationOverlay District (NCOD) of Bozeman. The Bozeman Tree Coalition (BTC) is asking forbetter enforcement of this NCOD specific code.
Thank you,
Marcia Kaveney, on behalf of the BTC
