GENERAL NOTES
1.ALL CONSTRUCTION SHALL BE PERFORMED IN ACCORDANCE WITH CURRENT
CITY OF BOZEMAN STANDARDS AND THE STATE OF MONTANA BUILDING AND
SPECIALTY CODES.
2.LANDSCAPE CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR SCHEDULING A PUNCH-LIST
SUBSTANTIAL COMPLETION INSPECTION AND FINAL COMPLETION INSPECTION
WITH LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT.
3.INSTALL EROSION CONTROL SYSTEMS IN ACCORDANCE WITH CITY OF
BOZEMAN STANDARDS PRIOR TO SITE WORK AND LANDSCAPE INSTALLATION.
4.MARK AND PROTECT ALL UTILITIES, SITE FEATURES, AND VEGETATION TO BE
RETAINED.
5.CONTRACTOR TO COORDINATE WITH OWNER'S REPRESENTATIVE AND
UTILITY COMPANIES, LOCATION OF ALL UTILITIES PRIOR TO COMMENCING
WORK. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO REPAIR DAMAGES TO EXISTING
UTILITIES, HARDSCAPES AND STRUCTURES AS A RESULT OF THE
CONTRACTORS ACTIVITIES.
6.PRIOR TO PLANTING, ON-SITE TOPSOIL SHALL BE TESTED FOR SOIL FERTILITY
BY A CERTIFIED TESTING LAB. CSU'S SOIL, WATER AND PLANT TESTING
LABORATORY OR APPROVED EQUAL: (970) 491-5061. IF NECESSARY, TOPSOIL
FOR TREE PITS, SHRUB PITS, AND GROUND COVER BEDS SHALL BE AMENDED
AS RECOMMENDED BY THE SOIL FERTILITY REPORT. A COPY OF SOILS
REPORT AND AMENDMENT PLAN SHALL BE PROVIDED TO LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT.
7.TOPSOIL DEPTH SHALL BE A MINIMUM OF 6" IN LAWN AREAS AND 8" IN
GARDEN BEDS, AFTER GRADING.
8.MATCH GRADES OF LAWNS TO CURBS, SIDEWALKS, AND TRAILS AT A 5%
MAXIMUM SLOPE AND A 2% MINIMUM SLOPE. TAPER TO EXISTING GRADES.
9.ALL PLANTING AREAS ADJACENT TO BUILDING SHALL SLOPE AWAY FROM THE
BUILDING FOR THE FIRST 10 FEET AT A 2% MINIMUM SLOPE.
10.EDGING AS SPECIFIED. INSTALL EDGING AFTER INSTALLATION OF IRRIGATION
AND PRIOR TO PLANTING. RE-STAKE EDGING IF NECESSARY AS DIRECTED BY
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT.
11.GEOTEXTILE 20-YR. WEED BARRIER, SRW PS2, OR APPROVED EQUAL, TO BE
INSTALLED IN ALL GARDEN BEDS.
12.MULCH AS SPECIFIED. MULCH ALL GARDEN BEDS AND TREE RINGS. TREE
RINGS IN LAWN TO HAVE ORGANIC COMPOST MULCH, UNLESS OTHERWISE
INDICATED ON PLAN.

PLANTING NOTES
1.PRIOR TO PLANTING, CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE FOR CONTACTING CITY
OF BOZEMAN TO SCHEDULE PRE-CONSTRUCTION MEETING AND TO OBTAIN
PROPER TREE PLANTING PERMITS.
2.PLANT MATERIAL SHALL CONFORM TO THE CURRENT AMERICAN STANDARD
FOR NURSERY STOCK, BY THE AMERICAN NURSERY AND LANDSCAPE
ASSOCIATION. ALL PLANTS TO BE NURSERY GROWN.
3.ALL PLANTS SHALL BE FULLY BRANCHED AND SYMMETRICAL IN HABIT,
UNLESS OTHERWISE NOTED.
4.ALL PLANTS TO BE SPACED AS SHOWN ON THE PLANS, UNLESS OTHERWISE
NOTED.
5.NO SUBSTITUTIONS ALLOWED WITHOUT PRIOR WRITTEN CONSENT FROM THE
LANDSCAPE ARCHITECT. ANY PLANT OR MATERIAL NOT MEETING THE
REQUIREMENTS SHALL BE REJECTED, REMOVED, DISPOSED OF AND
REPLACED BY AND AT THE CONTRACTOR'S EXPENSE.
6.PRIOR TO PLANTING, CONTRACTOR RESPONSIBLE FOR SCHEDULING
PRE-PLANTING INSPECTION OF ALL PLANT STOCK WITH LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT.
7.PLANTS SHALL BE LOCATED BY THE CONTRACTOR AND LANDSCAPE
ARCHITECT SHALL GIVE DIRECTION, MAKE ADJUSTMENTS, AND APPROVE
LOCATION DURING PRE-PLANTING INSPECTION.
8.VERIFY ALL QUANTITIES. PLANT QUANTITIES IN THE PLANT SCHEDULE ARE
FOR REFERENCE ONLY. CONTRACTOR IS RESPONSIBLE TO COMPLETE THEIR
OWN QUANTITY TAKE-OFFS FOR ALL PLANS AND SIZES SHOWN ON THE PLAN.
IN CASE OF A DISCREPANCY THE PLANTING PLAN SHALL DICTATE QUANTITY.
9.GROW BAGS MAY BE SUBSTITUTED FOR BALL AND BURLAP TREES WITHOUT
APPROVAL.
10.SEED ALL DISTURBED AREAS WITH NATIVE GRASSES OR WILDFLOWER MIX AS
SPECIFIED IN THE FALL.
11.SEED/SOD ALL DISTURBED EXISTING LAWN AREAS AS SPECIFIED.
12.BACKFILL TO BE LOOSENED NATIVE SOIL UNLESS AMENDMENT IS NECESSARY
AS DICTATED BY SOIL TEST.
12.FILL RAISED PLANTERS WITH GLACIER GOLD POTTING SOIL, OR APPROVED
EQUAL.
13.ALL TREES SHALL HAVE A MYCORRHIZAL FUNGI ROOT INOCULATION APPLIED
