The neighborhood is bounded by N. 3rd and N. Bozeman on the west and east, and by Tamarack and Peach on the north and south. The planned zoning, RC, doesn't match the residences in this neighborhood, which are primarily single family, one and two story structures. If I lived there, took pride in my home, I would be sick over this issue, probably furious as well. It just isn't right. People really live here, are emotionally invested in their homes, and RC zoning sets the stage to shatter their lives. I struggle to understand this zoning for this particular neighborhood, as it's needlessly oppressive and cruel for those folks who are just trying to live peacefully in their chosen corner of Bozeman. Zoning should protect people, give them security and an environment to call home. Instead, RC zoning will flip their peace and quiet upside down. It will be an open invitation for developers to prey on the residents and their property. They will be living in a construction zone. Their taxes will rise, their peace and quiet will be disrespected, shattered by the transformation. The transition to crowded streets, loss of views, loss of sunlight, will go on for decades as properties are demolished and built upward. Eventually everyone there now will have to sell and move away. I just don't get it, why place a target on this specific neighborhood? Do city planners have any grace or compassion? RA zoning would allow certain human scale increases in density without bringing the wholesale destruction that RC zoning invites. This neighborhood should be zoned RA! Greg Beardslee 221 N.
