Dear Bozeman City Commissioners, I am sharing my concerns regarding housing affordability and parking availability in our community. As a resident of Bozeman, I have observed a troubling trend of new housingdevelopments that are prohibitively expensive and lack adequate parking. Most residents rely on personal vehicles, so parking infrastructure must keep pace with growth. The Housing Crisis in BozemanHousing costs in Bozeman have reached unsustainable levels. Despite earning decent wages, many working-class individuals and families are being priced out of the area. This forces themto relocate, undermining the stability and diversity of our community. Meanwhile, more affordable housing options are often poorly maintained, leaving residents with few viablechoices. Another pressing concern is that much of the new housing is too small. No one wants to rentan 800-square-foot apartment. These units must be designed as truly livable spaces if people are expected to rent and stay in these developments. Proposed SolutionsTo ensure Bozeman remains a sustainable and welcoming place to live, I urge the commission to take the following actions:1. Prioritize Affordable Housing Initiatives - Encourage developments that offer reasonably priced, well-maintained housing options for working-class residents.2. Reevaluate Parking Policies - Consider adding another parking structure and ensuring new developments provide adequate parking for residents and visitors.3. Support Local Workers - Develop programs or incentives to help working-class families thrive in the area. A Call to ActionBozeman's future depends on thoughtful planning supporting economic and social stability. Iappreciate your attention to these critical issues and hope you will take meaningful action toaddress them. Many residents feel that you prioritize the interests of the wealthy and powerfulwhile neglecting the contributions of the everyday people who are essential to thecommunity's character. Thank you for your service and dedication to Bozeman. Best, Kiley Perkins
