Attn: Community Development Board and City Commission,
Thank you and City Staff for the improvements to the Affordable Housing Ordinance that will
result in more affordability for a longer period of time, and a better quality of housing forthose inhabiting the affordable units produced.
However, the ordinance does not adequately protect the public's right to appeal, the reviewer's
ability to limit adverse impacts, or the historic character of our core neighborhoods.
Please add the following provisions from the original ordinance back into this new versionbefore you approve or adopt it:
1. From the original ordinance 2105, add Section 2, Item I, on page 4 back into this draft.
2. Item J on page 4 of 2105 needs to be added back into this draft.3. Item K on page 4 needs to be added.
4. Most importantly, developments proposing to use the AHO incentives within the NCODneed to be required to gain a COA. The entire Section 7 of 2105 needs to be added back into
this ordinance before it is adopted.
