Dear City Commissioners,
Please continue on the measured, community responsive path you began and reclaim reviewauthority of the Guthrie once again. To not do so, to ‘slide' through approval at the end of theyear, will undue to good of all community engagement which as occurrent this fall. Pleasecontinue on the thoughtful, community responsive path. Transparency and time matter.
We all have learned current code is weak, and the most salient point is in fitting the characterof the neighborhood. Please allow the time to consider options which will make this neededhousing viable and accepted! The large spruce tree, and small exterior courtyard, so manysmall things could make this easier on the neighborhood.
As for parking, I would love to have a coffee with one of you. I have read H. Graber’s book,and worked hard to educate myself (and others) on the wave of community developmentsupport for no parking. I have a somewhat radical proposal for community engagement, forone month, which might help get the community and the planners on one page….. Love topropose.
Additionally, does the developer not have a lawsuit on this application? It hardly seemsprudent to slide this through given that. Please dont let developers bully our community.
For now, dont undue the good you have done. Hold fast. And, use this as a way to introducethe new head of Comm Dev as a responsive person-so some cooperation can be achieved!
