Dear Commissioners, Mayor, and Deputy Mayor-
I am writing today to ask you 3 or more of you to bring forth a vote this coming Tuesday toreclaim your authority to review the Guthrie, version 2. I think it is in the best interest for
residents and the developer alike to maintain consistency and transparency in thereview process of this project. You reviewed the first one, it is logical that you would review
the revised application, basing your judgement on the same criteria and observations you usedbefore.
Because the applicant is asking for a speedier process instead of waiting out the 2 year stay on
the demolition permit, they are mere days ahead of the AHO deep incentive revisionsscheduled to return to the City Commission in mid-January. My understanding is that part of
the problem of the Guthrie, version 1 are those very incentives that are being revised. Therevisions might very well affect this project in a positive way for the surrounding
neighborhood and elementary school. Or you may find some of the same problems thataffected your previous decision.
I urge you to please take back your review of the Guthrie and, if possible, schedule the public
hearing to take place after you have voted on the revisions to the deep incentives- which cameabout partly because of this very project. It seems the right thing to do procedurally, even if it
risks another lawsuit.
With active current construction, and the rising level of vacancies, it seems appropriate to notrush these precedent setting decisions.
Thank you,
Marcia Kaveney
