Adjournment THE POLICE COMMISSION OF BOZEMAN, MONTANA POC AGENDA Monday, December 2, 2024 Bozeman Public Safety Center, 901 N. Rouse Ave. This is the time for individuals to comment on non-agenda matters falling within the purview of the Commission. There will also be an opportunity in conjunction with each action item for comments pertaining to that item. Please state your name, and state whether you are a resident of the city or a property owner within the city in an audible tone of voice for the record and limit your comments to three minutes. Please limit your comments to three minutes. The presiding officer may close the meeting to the public pursuant to Sect. 2-3-203(3), MCA, during the time discussion relates to a matter of individual privacy if and only if the presiding officer determines the demands of individual privacy clearly exceed the merits of public disclosure. The right of individual privacy may be waived by the individual about whom the discussion pertains and, in that event, the meeting must be open. Discuss the Qualifications of New Officer Applicants. Approve the Recommendation of Applicants as Police Officers for the Bozeman Police Department. MEETING DATE:December 2, 2024 AGENDA ITEM TYPE:Citizen Advisory Board/Commission RECOMMENDATION:Discuss the Qualifications of New Officer Applicants. STRATEGIC PLAN:3.1 Public Safety: Support high quality public safety programs, emergency preparedness, facilities, and leadership. BACKGROUND:The Police Department currently has vacant police officer positions. Several applicants have successfully completed a multi-layered hiring process, a psychological evaluation, a comprehensive medical evaluation, and a robust background investigation. UNRESOLVED ISSUES:None. ALTERNATIVES:As suggested by the Police Commission. FISCAL EFFECTS:None. STRATEGIC PLAN:7.1 Values-Driven Culture: Promote a values-driven organizational culture that reinforces ethical behavior, exercises transparency and maintains the community’s trust. BACKGROUND:The City Commission Charter requires annual ethics training for all City employees and members of advisory boards. This discussion will fulfill this requirement for 2024.
