To the Director of Community Development: We are writing to express our strong opposition to the approval of this site plan. As residents of this valley – the Valley of the Flowers – for more than a dozen years, we treasure the connection to nature, to local agriculture, to a thriving ecosystem, and to local community that this valley stands for. 4 Daughters Farm is one of the last remaining small farms in Bozeman. Not only do they provide an invaluable connection for our children and community to the land, they also provide an inspiring venue for many local non-profits who host events on their property. Without small farms, neighbors who care about the well-being of the valley, and people who tend to the very land and water that we rely on, we lose the very spirit and soul that makes Bozeman so special. We are not against development. We support smart development that sustains our community for the future. Destroying the ability of our local small business farmers to share their connection to land, their wisdom, and their inspiration is not sustainable development. It’s a loss that cannot be undone. As a life-long environmentalist who moved here to support local conservation as well as the tourism economy that relies on a healthy ecosystem, the destruction of essential habitat, combined with an increased 500-1000 cars roads that are already far beyong capacity spells disaster for the very species that we all cherish living here in this beautiful place. Thank you for your consideration, Kristi Chester Vance and Chris Vance
