Hello,
I'm writing to ask that you do not approve the development of the land proposed in application
23306. I understand that the valley is growing and more housing is needed, however I thinkthe developer should reconsider the scope of this project.
4 Daughters farm is a wonderful, local establishment that supplied me with flowers for my
wedding, and helps to support the local ecology through sustainable practices and supportingpollinators and local wildlife. This is something I see disappearing too quickly, and supporting
nature and wildlife is a core part of being a Montanan. Development of this space would harmthe aforementioned farm, as well as dangerously increase the traffic on an already narrow
road.
As an alternative, I would like to suggest an increase in natural space to the development and afocus on keeping the fertile soil and native plants in place by decreasing the amount of homes.
The topsoil here is incredible and it's sickening to see it carved away to make space forthousands of apartments. The native plants are hugely important to conservation and
supporting pollinators, birds, etc. Replacing all of this with concrete/asphalt and grass lawns that provide nothing to support the
natural world. Developments like these also add extra strain on the water supply due to theirrigation that grass requires, which in turn creates higher water bills and more stress on the
community. Thank you for your time, and I ask that you consider the long-term effects these developments
will have on our land,Jenna Mikat
