We have visited the 4 Daughters Farm for nearly 20 years. It occupies a special space in our family memories and hearts. Even nowwith our daughters no longer living at our home, my wife and I enjoy regular visits to the farm. We enjoy being able to pick flowers, raspberries and more, and simply to enjoy thefarm environment, and watching other people, particularly young families and those new to the Gallatin Valley delight in the farm experience. The farm is a unique community asset. I am quite certain it operates at a loss and the ownersare not opposed to the Range 5 development to "save their business". They are truly committed to helping preserve the rich farming history of the valley. They are committed tooffering the community, particularly to those new residents who perhaps have never been on an operating farm to have that experience. The farm is simply irreplaceable and thisdevelopment puts its viability at grave risk. I know many other families in the south end of the valley that have similar experiences with their children and grandchildren. Whether they have written to you with comments or not, Iknow they would like to see the farm preserved so that other young families can have the experience and create the memories we all have. I urge you to reject this development. Some of the valley history and traditions must bepreserved. each and every City and County Commissioner talks about preserving our culture and heritage and about not allowing the valley to become Los Angeles, Minneapolis or anyone of hundreds of towns and cities that have completely obliterated their historical, cultural, agricultural and overall character.
