I wholeheartedly support inclusion of the Historic Preservation Advisory Board's
Cultural Landscape/Heritage Tree Program into the Bozeman Landmark Program.
There's something moving about preserving these relics of the past, some of which
have been present for over 100 years ago.
They're majestic, they're beautiful. They provide a link to our past. (They also provide
shade.)
I'd like to take particular note of the 100+ year old Ponderosa pine (our state tree) inthe parking lot of the old City Center Motel at 5th and Main, soon to be cut down to
make.....another parking lot.
It truly is a Landmark, one that we will miss when it's gone. We shall never see aparking space as lovely as that tree...
