November 18, 2024 To Whom It May Concern: I am John Heriza, the ninety-three year old father of Tom Heriza, the beleaguered owner of Bozeman’s 4 Daughter’s Farm. I am offering my support as he struggles once again with the city and out of state developers to keep his small farm from becoming another parcel of open land that will house wealthy out-of-staters who have decided to move to beautiful Gallatin County. The proposed three-story apartments adjacent to Tom’s property will definitely not be affordable to those poor Bozemanites currently living in tents and trailers on Bozeman’s city streets. I think Senator Elect Tim Sheehy, who claims to be a real Montanan land owner and not an outside developer, would want to lend vocal support for a fellow Montana farmer. As an aside, I would like to point out that my mother and grandparents were Sheehys. My grandparents graduated from Great Falls High School and shared the neighborhoods of the city with the painter Charles M. Russell. My grandfather’s brothers’ family still ranch out of Havre at the foot of the Bear Paw Mountains. My first cousin, Hugh Sheehy, recently decided that his ranch near Bonner in the Potomac Valley will be maintained for agricultural use and wildlife habitat in perpetuity. Tim, how about lending your support to someone who just might be your relative. Sincerely, John G. Heriza
