Dear reader,
Hello, I'm contacting y'all because I'm concerned. I have been reading about the three story tall
development being proposed for directly South of Four Daughters farms. I see that it's tallenough and close enough that it would directly obstruct Sunlight access to the farm, and that's
what concerns me the most. This farm is productive in not only growing flowers, but also theexperiences that they offer on their beautiful farm. Both of these things would be genuinely
compromised by the construction of a new building between the farm and the sun, by sittingthree stories high and just to the South. Four Daughters farm is a particularly productive farm
in the area due to the fertile soil and fresh water access. If you look in any direction fromBozeman, maybe an hour or so, you'll find almost no ground this opportune for farming.
Secondly, I live just a little bit West of where Stucky road ends, and so I drive Stucky a couple
times most days, if not several times on those days, and I can absolutely assure you thatStucky is already being overwhelmed with the amount of traffic sent down it.The proposal that
I found for this construction doesn't mention doubling the lanes of Stucky, nor does it mentionraising the speed limit of Stucky. It would be irresponsible to construct an apartment building
in the middle of it, for both the disruption it would cause to residents who already have to usethat route, as well as would subject all the new renters of the apartment to the same issue from
the start.
Thirdly, I don't know if this would affect the farm's water access, which I sure hope it doesn't/However, since the water flows from that direction, I suspect that it would contribute to
polluting the farm's water supply.
Fourth of all, it's painfully obvious how this construction is likely to interfere with the successof Bozeman's own Four Daughters farms, and yet I don't see where there was an opportunity
to allow public input on this decision. That is irresponsible behavior, and is very disrespectfulto the citizens of Bozeman.
The proposal of this construction, alone, is a poor reflection upon the city of Bozeman,
directly and indirectly mistreats important members of the community, demonstrates a lack ofawareness, and should not be taken seriously.
Thank you for your time,
Cooper Simmons
