Dear member of the Bozeman Planning Commission: I am writing to add my name to those opposing this development on Fowler Lane. I am a resident of Meadow Creek Subdivision, so I am quite familiar with this neighborhood and what is happening in this area of our wonderful city. If you have not had a chance to drive down Stucky from the MSU campus, or Graf Street east from South 11, I would urge you to do so quickly so you can see the impact of the developments permitted by this city. The area is now a gulag of graceless four-story apartment buildings. The feeling of space that makes Bozeman so special has been obliterated here to allow for a ghetto of buildlings lacking grace or character. There are just a few pockets left of the agricultural land that add so much to this community. This development, along with Buffalo Run, would be one more of the death by a thousand cuts that is destroying why we live in Bozeman. I truly understand that we have a housing crisis in Bozeman. But these over-priced apartments and condos that now crowd onto the southern border are clearly not a solution. They are geared to the rising enrollment at MSU. But, what happens if that enrollment falls? I'd urge you to reconsider not only this development but other multi-family development that have become a blight on Bozeman. It is almost too late. I implore you to not seal the door with this development and others. Carol Schmidt 3428 Parkway Ave. Bozeman, MT 59718 406-579-6814
