Dear Community Development Team,
I am writing to express my concerns regarding the proposed Range 5 development adjacent to 4 Daughters Farm, a
locally owned, family-run flower farm. I am concerned about the significant impact this particular project will have
on the farm and the surrounding area.
4 Daughters Farm is a valued part of the Bozeman community, supporting both our economy and identity. The farm
is not only a source of sustainable flowers for the area but also the livelihood for the family that operates it day in
and day out. It offers a valuable and sustainable service that both residents and visitors enjoy.
A development of this size and scale, so close to the farm, is likely to have serious consequences. Issues like
increased traffic, noise, dust, and changes in local drainage or water tables could disrupt the established Ruch soils
that the farm relies upon. Additionally, the three-story buildings will create significant visual impacts, altering the
atmosphere of this amazing farm.
I ask the city to reconsider the scale and design of this development and look into alternatives that would reduce its
impact on the flower farm and the local surroundings. Options such as a smaller-scale development, greater setback
distances, or design changes to better integrate with the surrounding landscape could help preserve the farm’s
operations and minimize the effects on this incredible family run business.
Thank you for considering the concerns of residents who value 4 daughters Farm and its surroundings so much.
There is a solution that balances development goals with respect for Bozeman’s hardworking residents , like Tom,
May, and Alice Heriza and their community that supports them.
Sincerely,
Fritz Arnold
