Dear city,
I am writing today with concerns about the 12 building apartment development plan Range 5,
application 23306. This development is near farm land. Adding hundreds of cars to this areawill impact soil quality (exhaust/car fluid run off from road to soil), add a ton of noise to the
area (affecting pollinating birds and bugs), disrupt the amount of sunlight the local farm getsfor their crops by creating shade, and overall is too dense for that “farm roads” area. The street
itself is not equipped to manage a development of this size.
Will the trees be destroyed? That’s more bird and animal habitat destroyed.
I would also ask if the city truly needs another 312 units of apartments with all the housingdevelopments nearly complete or newly complete in city limits.
We need to keep space for local farms to thrive if we want to keep any semblance of our
community culture. When all we have are giant housing developments and no local producers,where does that leave us? With all the dense housing going in, there has to be a better way to
develop the land when vacancy rates are nearing (or at, by now) 10%.
