Dear members of the Bozeman City Planning Department,
I am contacting you with concerns regarding a proposed development plan for “Range 5”
south of the 4 Daughters Farm. The proposed development threatens the 4 Daughters
Farm’s ability to continue farming with anticipated impacts to soil and water quality, run
off, and blockage of southern exposure light. The farm also relies on its visitors to keep
the farm operational. Stucky Rd and Fowler Ln are not equipped to handle increased
traffic from this development, impacting customer’s ability to access the farm. Our
growing community must be dedicated to finding creative ways to accommodate
newcomers without impacting local farmers.
I’ve lived in Bozeman for 24 years and grew up with the Heriza family’s daughters who
own the 4 Daughters Farm. We need to protect farmers like the Herizas who have been
in the Gallatin Valley for decades and whose livelihood is threatened by this proposed
development. I urge you to consider the devastating impact this development would have
on a cherished local family farm.
Thank you for your consideration,
