Hello!
I am writing to you today in opposition to the application of #23306 for the Range 5
development. As a customer of the 4 Daughters Farm, this development would causepermanently damaging effects to their Agribusiness that is so beloved by so many in
Bozeman. With our growing seasons in this region being short enough as is - the buildingheight of this development would severely impact the southern sun exposure that is absolutely
vital to continue to operate their farm in a way that allows them to make ends meet and be aflourishing business supported by a loving community. In addition, these types of
developments permanently alter water runoff and soil quality - this too would be highlydetrimental to the very basics that are non-negotiable in agriculture.
A building blocking the mountain views would severely hurt their business as many locals andtourists alike visit for the scenery and tranquil experience they are able to provide at this
location. As a photographer who operates a business in this city, I have had photoshoots at thislocation and know that the undisrupted view of the mountains from their flower field is highly
sought after and has played a very large role in the success of their business.
Furthermore, Stucky Rd. has become incredibly dangerous to drive and bike on. With noshoulders, no designated turnouts, no traffic lights, no lane expansion - this road is due for
major improvements before we see higher volumes of vehicle traffic that are forced to traveldown it. The Stucky / Enterprise Blvd intersection specifically is very dangerous as is - winter
conditions only increasing that. We need to see a solution to this intersection and Stucky Rd.before any further residential development occurs in the area.
I am by no means anti-development - it just needs to be in the right place for the right
reasons, and make sense. This development seems to not consider any of the above factors thatare incredibly important when bringing such a large population density to a place that
previously did not have it and is currently not equipped to handle it, and falls very short ofcontributing to what Bozeman residents love so much about where they live.
Thank you for your time!
