2. Current Year Taxable Value $

3. % of Change

(Please indicate + or ,
e.g., -8% or +2%)
Note: If Item 2 is greater than Item 1, the taxing jurisdiction's taxable value has increased. To calculate
the increase, subtract Item 1 from Item 2, divide the result by Item 1 and multiply by 100%. That product
will be the percent increase in taxable value.
If Item 2 is less than Item 1, the taxable value has decreased. To calculate the decrease, subtract Item 2
from Item 1, divide the result by Item 1 and multiply by 100%. The resulting product will be the percent
decrease in taxable value.
In accordance with 15-10-412(7)(a), MCA, if a tax unit's taxable value decreased by 5% or mar'e from the
1986 base year, the taxing unit may increase the levy but only to such a point that the revenue generated
is no more than the revenue from property taxes for the 1986 tax year. Thus, if the % of change in Item 3
is -5% or greater, the taxing jurisdiction could incr'ease the mill levy.
Indicated mill levy pursuant to 15-10-401 through 15-10-412, MCA if percentage decrease is 5% or more.
Do calculations only if item 3 is a decrease of
5% or more.
