Hi There,
I hope this email finds you well.
I am writing to formally request the addition of an agenda item for the upcoming City
Commission meeting on Tuesday, November 5th. This item concerns the installation
of a stoplight at the intersection of Sourdough and Kaggy.
This intersection has become increasingly hazardous due to high traffic volume and
multiple blind spots. The risks at this location are a serious concern for our
community, as I personally experienced when I was involved in an accident there with
my family earlier this fall. Fortunately, no one was injured; however, the incident
underscored the urgent need for preventative action to avoid future, potentially severe
accidents.
I believe this matter warrants careful discussion and consideration by the
Commission, as it directly impacts public safety. Thank you for considering this
request. Please let me know if any further information is required to facilitate the
inclusion of this item.
Sincerely,
Hanni H. Wiegand

Hi Alex,
Is it possible to add it for the November 26th agenda?
Thanks!
Best,
Hanni

Dear Hanni,
Please note, that due to holidays and election day, the next City Commission Meeting is
scheduled for Tuesday, November 19th. That one will be very full. Other City Commissiondates for this year are November 26, December 3, 10, and 17.
Take care,
Alex

Hi Hanni,
I would like to add some clarifying statements. While all agendas have an opportunity forpublic comment, there is no mechanism in our rules of procedure to allow members of thepublic to “add an item” to an agenda.
The three ways that items can be placed on an agenda are:
By the MayorBy the City ManagerBy a majority of the City Commission.
You are welcome to submit your written public comments and provide public commentsduring the appropriate general comment period at any City Commission meeting.
Generally speaking, stoplights, or any other traffic control devices, are an operationalfunction and not in the purview of the City Commission. Typically, for those types ofrevisions, Transportation and Engineering staff would have to conduct a traffic survey tomeasure the necessary mitigation strategies that are appropriate. An additional wrinklerelated to Kagy is the mix of jurisdictional oversight; Kagy Blvd is a State of MontanaUrban route and Sourdough south of that intersection is Gallatin County maintained. Wehave more information available on the Engage Bozeman site.
If you have additional questions, please feel free to reach out to me directly.
Thank you,
Mike Maas, MPA
