Do not click links or open attachments unless you recognize the sender and know the content is safe. Dear Honorable City Commissioners: I am writing to support the life of a single tree. While a single tree is insignificant in the bigger picture of our Bozeman community, it is a meaningfully important symbol of our willingness to place nature on an equal footing as monetary gain. The tree I am referring to is the Ponderosa Pine that is owned by Bozeman Exchange Associates, LLC and has grown along Main Street and N. 5th Avenue for over one hundred years. In our arid, east of the Divide, climate, Ponderosa Pine trees take a long time to reach maturity. This species is not part of the climax forest community in our area. This tree was purposely planted over ten decades ago and has yet to achieve maturity. We, as a society, value trees. Whether trees are young saplings or over-mature relics of pre-Columbian times, we value them. Please place this tree in the category of “Protected”. Please value the symbolic importance of this Ponderosa Pine. Please do not permit the intentional ending of this tree’s life. Do not cut this tree down. Respectfully, Noah Poritz 1418 Maple Dr. Bozeman, MT 59715 406-570-6888
