To the people planning growth in the area
It is tragic to cut and remove trees that take years to get established and grow within our city limits.
Smart design is designed around established and historic trees and shrubs which save costs and preserve trees thatclean air and create shade for new buildings. The big trees at the corner of 7th and main on the north side whereVerizon is now, remain there because that building was designed around saving those trees—something the citydesign board at the time insisted. If that hadn’t been done there would only be black top and a few struggling treesin that entire corner area. Those trees were planted probable 80 years ago because they were part of someones yard.
We have altered enough of our unique city with tall building and struggling trees held up with stakes.
I don’t know who reads this, or if it makes a difference but in this day and age we need to design smart and careabout our historic charm.
