When again resurfacing the 51h Street Courts, please consider
striping them again for pickleball. Our pickleball group which
consists of approximately 30 players age 55+ has been playing
there 2 days per week for 10 years. We play there from (9:00 am
to 10:30 am and another group about the same size plays from
10:30 to 12:00. We are all respectful of the courts by putting
away all equipment and leaving the courts clean.
Both of our pickleball groups were instrumental in getting
pickleball courts established in Bogert Park. And we, like all of
you, are proud of this fine facility. However, given the rule
restrictions at Bogert Park and the huge number of individual
players using the courts throughout the day, there is no time
available for our groups to play there together. We enjoy each
others company and we play to have fun and get much needed
exercise at our own pace.
Our groups have contributed of our time and money to bring the
game of pickleball to Bozeman and will continue to do so. It is
my understanding that the cost of striping is being paid for
privately. All that is needed is a decision from you, that striping
for pickleball will be done with the new resurfacing of the South
5th Courts.
Respectfully, Jan Riebhoff, retired educator '
