Fiedler - Resolution 5650 Urban CampingCustomer Submission #CS-24-915 Open Created on October 7, 2024 by William Fiedler Description Resolution 5650 Good morning, Commissioner. I understand the Commission will be addressing proposed Resolution 5650 on October 8th, establishing a permit and fee for camping on Bozeman's streets. This email is intended to serve as opposition to the proposed resolution. It is unfortunate that the Bozeman City Commission refuses to find a solution to this situation, and instead chooses to normalize homelessness in our city. Simply enforcing the ordinances we had on the books would immediately solve the problem. Instead, the commission chooses to protect particular pockets, the ones you deem important, to keep safe while letting other areas get completely overrun with "Campers" and all that goes along with them. I invite each and every commissioner to have dinner with me on any given Friday or Saturday night at Fiesta Mexicana and then to take a leisurely walk down Wheat Drive to see the consequences of your inaction. Give me a call at (406) 539-0959 and we'll get it on the calendar. It bothers me that the commission is more concerned with the environmental impact of the campers ("The recommended fee for a 30 day permit to camp on the right-of- Assigned to Alex Newby Collaborator/s Mike Maas Due By 10/10/2024 Submission Age 1 Day Attachments 0 Customer Messages 0 Internal Comments 0 Tasks 0 Source Internal by William Fiedler Category Public Comment Department Clerk's Office Customer Name William Fiedler Customer Email bill@distinctivelighting.com Cell Phone - 10/8/24, 2:22 PM about:blank about:blank 1/3 way is $25. The fact that businesses have resorted to suing the City in order to get you to follow your own rules should tell you our feelings on the situation. Please take this situation seriously and table Resolution 5650 and make a motion to reinstate and enforce the ordinances that were in place prior to the Supreme Court ruling that was recently overturned.
