Hello City Commissioners,
I am writing to inform you that the City of Bozeman should not pass legislation allowing any
form of camping on the public right-of-way, whether paid or unpaid. I attended the Augustmeeting and the evidence presented by the city attorney was overwhelming. The crime
statistics alone should cause you to re-evaluate any idea of allowing "urban camping". I haveseen firsthand the crime that has developed by allowing this camping to continue and I expect
the commission to reject any ideas of anything but a complete ban. This should not beconsidered an "emotional" or "sensitive" issue. The ordinance should be written to protect the
citizens of the city from the ripple effect of urban camping. A small number of people areurban campers compared to the city's population, and you, as representatives of the larger
population, have a duty to protect that larger population.
Sincerely,
Edward Regan
