Please accept my public comment on this action item for tonight’s meeting. I’m afraid I amout sick today, so I will not be attending the meeting in person.
Thank you.
Honorable Mayor Cunningham, Deputy Mayor Morrison, and Bozeman City Commissioners:
I’m not sure if it is appropriate to submit comments on a Consent Agenda item, but I did wantto briefly comment on item G.2: Acknowledge Receipt of Petition to Abandon North-South
Alley within Block 100 of the Northern Pacific Addition to Bozeman, Located between EastPeach Street and East Cottonwood Street.
This project is directly across the street from me and I have been trying to follow its progress, which has been difficult. While it surprised me to see this on the consent agenda, I realize this
is only the beginning of the process. The staff report says: Accepting of the petition anddirecting staff to review the petition is the initial step of that procedure. Future steps include:
completion of an engineering staff report, a Resolution of Intent, a noticed public hearing, andfinally a Resolution of Abandonment.
I did see a concept plan (dated 5.3.24) for the Cloverleaf development in which the north-south alley is vacated and the east-west alley is extended all the way across the property. This
helps alleviate my concern that vacating the north-south alley would have a negative impacton emergency services, garbage collection, and pedestrian pass-through opportunities.
I look forward to the engineering staff report and to participating in the public hearing sometime down the road.
With my best,
Amy Kelley Hoitsma
