Please accept my public comment on this action item for tonight’s meeting. I’m afraid I amout sick today, so I will not be attending the meeting in person.
Thank you.
Honorable Mayor Cunningham, Deputy Mayor Morrison, and Bozeman City
Commissioners:
I am heartened to see that so many citizens are becoming involved in the UDC
update since the Commission put the process on hold last year. Because of that, I will
keep my comments brief.
As president of the Northeast Neighborhood Association, I will do my best to inform
our neighbors of upcoming engagement opportunities so that the neighbors feel
heard. I like the idea of having access to a toolkit “based on key focus areas, with
content people could review as needed before hosting a group chat.” I see this as an
opportunity to better educate more of the neighborhood in advance of an official NE
neighborhood workshop that you would staff and host. I also see it as a way toidentify those who would like to play a more active role in the process.
I have been working with a small group of NENA members over the past year to think
about and suggest ways to update our unique NEHMU zone and perhaps designate it
as Bozeman’s Arts District. I look forward to future opportunities do develop andshare those ideas.
With my best,
Amy Kelley Hoitsma
