Dear Commissioner Fisher,
I am so happy to hear that Bozeman's council decided to ban trapping in Sourdough Canyon. But I understand that yours was the one dissenting vote.
I respectfully encourage you to reconsider the implications of trapping, the suffering it causes,and the danger it is to the public and pets. This antiquated form of recreation has no place in
the 21st century. Our wildlife are already stressed due to habitat loss, human encroachment,and climate change. They should not have to deal with the extra danger of trapping. People
deserve to enjoy our public lands without fear of losing a pet in a trap. I personally hope to see the day when all recreational trapping is removed from the landscape.
Sourdough Canyon was a good and appropriate start.
