There will also be time in conjunction with each agenda item for public comment relating to that item but you may only speak once per topic. All persons addressing the Community Development Board shall speak in a civil and courteous manner and members of the audience shall be respectful of others. BACKGROUND:Bozeman adopted the Bozeman Community Plan 2020 in November 2020. Chapter 2 includes seven themes that organize the goals and objectives. Theme 7, A City Engaged in Regional Coordination, states: "Our City, in partnership with Gallatin County, Montana State University, and other regional authorities, desires to address the needs of a rapidly growing and changing regional population through strategic infrastructure choices and coordinated decision-making." Gallatin County is developing a future land use map and housing strategy in support of their adopted growth policy. The project website is Envision Gallatin [External Link]. The website includes a draft map, land use category descriptions, and recommended strategies for housing. A survey is also open to share feedback on the draft. The project includes development of the future land use map within the planning area of the Bozeman Community Plan 2020 that lies outside of municipal boundaries. Gallatin County Planning staff will present on the draft map and solicit input from the members of the Board. A formal motion and vote is not required. Bozeman and Gallatin County planning staff will be attending the Montana Association of Planners conference on Oct 6-9th. Therefore, the presentation will be provided virtually. A City of Bozeman staff liaison will be present in person at the meeting. Board members are encouraged to review the website in advance to 8 facilitate an effective discussion and to share the information on the website with others. UNRESOLVED ISSUES:None. STRATEGIC PLAN:4.2 High Quality Urban Approach: Continue to support high-quality planning, ranging from building design to neighborhood layouts, while pursuing urban approaches to issues such as multimodal transportation, infill, density, connected trails and parks, and walkable neighborhoods.
