Hello,
I am curious what next steps will be taken to remove those not in compliance with
Ordinance 2147 in our area vs just issuing citations which don’t seem effective?
Especially since this is not supposed to be happening next to a residence in the first place
and in direct violation of 2147?
Your ordinance clearly states that camping is “prohibited adjacent to or immediately across
from any parcel or lot containing a residential dwelling or any lots or parcels with multi-household dwellings.”
Those living on the streets of Blondie, Kimberwicke, and Veronica are in direct violation of
this.
The ordinance has been in effect for almost a year, and most of the campers on Blondie
and Veronica have been there since then, some even longer. I see them every day. None
of them move. How are they allowed to stay when there are multiple violations? As
someone who lives on Blondie, I find this super frustrating to see campers stationary
next to a residential dwelling for months on end, in an area where your ordinance clearly
states is not allowed, and how the city continues to let that happen.
What is the timeline to get these folks in areas that are compliant with the ordinance?
I also ask, why did you create an ordinance that you can’t or refuse enforce?
Thank you,
Jessica Cone
