Dear Mayor, Deputy Mayor, and Commissioners, I had the opportunity to skim the Draft of the Community Engagement Plan-Phase 2. The Project title is: Building Our Future Together: Updating the Development Code. I want to stress the words, BUILDING OUR FUTURE TOGETHER. In light of that very positive phrase I noticed that neither the Historic Preservation Advisory Board or the Inner Neighborhood Councils are on the list of Advisory Boards. Surely there was anunintentional failure to list these equally important advisory boards in updating our development code. We all know that all Bozeman residents, regardless of where they live, believe that weneed to do a better job of preserving our historic and cultural resources. Is the Historic Preservation Policy a strong part of the UDC? It absolutely should be, and should not be limited to the NCOD. The Historic Preservation Advisory Board, as well as the INC, must be a guiding partners in the rewrite of our development code. My time to write and deliver this note to you is running out, so I want to address the Key Questions #2 : What decisions are we gathering public input on? There are so many things you should be gathering public input on, but my husband and I would likeinput on two areas of concern; the threat to our existing zoning laws and the threat of losing the NCOD. Thank you, and we appreciate that you will all work hard on this process. Regards, Nancy and Larry Johnson 517 S. 3rd Ave.
