STRATEGIC PLAN:3.1 Public Safety: Support high quality public safety programs, emergency preparedness, facilities, and leadership. BACKGROUND:In November 2024, Bozeman voters will decide on two critical public safety issues: a construction bond to build a fourth Fire Station, and a mill levy to fund additional first responders. The Downtown BID has a line item in the FY25 work plan and budget for a Downtown Safety Program ($5,000). The board would like to begin planning alongside the Bozeman Police Department for a dedicated downtown resource officer as the needs of the downtown community shift. This will take several years to establish and would eventually be a split salary funding by downtown and BPD. This is an opportunity for Bozeman Police & Fire to present information on this levy/bond for educational purposes. https://www.bozeman.net/our-city/city-projects/first-responder-levy-bond UNRESOLVED ISSUES:None.
