Sep 11, 2024, 9:45am Please post the following public comment in the Sustainability Board folder in time for the SB's Sep 11, 2024, meeting. To: Sustainability Advisory BoardSubject: Agenda item G.2: Bozeman Landmark Program special presentation I am writing to comment as an individual Bozeman resident on Agenda Item G.2: The Bozeman Landmark Program (Application 22388) special presentation (as follows): The Bozeman Landmark Program (BLP) is, in part, being developed to identify and protectlocal places of importance via locally-specific standards and regulations. It is my understanding that local places of importance can include both Bozeman's builtenvironment and Bozeman's natural environment—the latter a point not being emphasized enough in some BLP presentations (e.g., certainly not in the Sep 9, 2024, BLP presentationto the Community Development Board). That said, I ask the Sustainability Board (SB) to focus its Landmark Program-related questions and discussion on Bozeman's natural environment, which falls within the SB'sarea of expertise. Protecting Bozeman's natural environment—its biotic and abiotic components—is at least as important as protecting Bozeman's built environment because itis Bozeman's natural environment that is the key to our city's long-term environmental sustainability and long-term climate resilience. Thank you for the opportunity to comment.
